We originally got Eeyore as company for Cooper, who would get frantic if I took Sabrina out of the pen. (Not your usual fretting - I mean nutty to point he would fall down from running too fast.) Eeyore has turned out to be a lot of fun. He's pretty useless, but he's cute, and he's good company for Sabrina. He has a bray like a foghorn. We are very fortunate to have neighbors who think he's the cutest thing going.
He likes oranges, marshmallows, the lawn, and having his face and ears petted. He does not like water, being brushed, standing tied, or anything that looks like a trap - like getting in the trailer, for instance. Pretty much the homebody for now, although we hope to someday at least be able to pony him along on trail rides.
The people of the Longears mailing list have been a huge help in learning about Eeyore - what's normal for a donkey, training tips, etc., not to mention they are a nice bunch of folks with some great stories and jokes.
