This is the place for all the odd things that don't belong anywhere else...
Michael and I love to find instances of interesting English on Japanese products. This is the inner wrapper from some blueberry gum. We collected a bunch of gum wrappers that Michael had brought back from Japan, plus others from the local imported food store, and sent them to a guy in Brazil who has an enormous collection from all over the world. Here's what a solar eclipse looks like on a horse trailer. Each little opening in the leaves of the trees creates an aperture, which focuses an image of the (eclipsed) sun onto the trailer. It's the same thing that happens all the time, but when the splotches of light are round, they look so normal that we don't notice them. I used to own a tractor - a 1950 Ferguson TO-20 with a bunch of implements. It was very cool, but there isn't enough room here to use it - too many hills, trees, and fences. Mostly it sat in the garage. Just before selling it to a local horse ranch I got it out and disked part of the front lawn, just to say I did something. |
